NIB Important Notice - Suspension of Face-to-Face Operations & Expired Smart Cards

Dear BCCEC Members,

Please be advised that The National Insurance Board has suspended face-to-face operations, out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the NIB Board has publicly announced that expired NIB Cards remain valid until further notice and requests that you honor your clients expired NIB cards.

A process is in place whereby government and private agencies, can verify, with the Registration Department, the validity of a registrant’s expired card, via email at or by telephone at 502-1770, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
