The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation (BCCEC) hosted its latest Power Breakfast on Thursday, September 3, bringing together members of the business community for an engaging morning of conversation, learning and networking focused on Artificial Intelligence, innovation and the future of business.

Held at Margaritaville Beach Resort, the Power Breakfast featured Venkat Krishnam, Global Transformation Technology & Innovation at SAP, and Christopher Hesch, Chief Technology Officer at SEIDOR, who shared their expertise and perspectives on how technology is transforming the way organizations operate.

The event explored SAP’s Autonomous Enterprise and the growing role of artificial intelligence, automation and intelligent business processes in helping organizations operate more efficiently, make better-informed decisions and respond more quickly to changing business conditions.

In his opening remarks, BCCEC Vice-Chairman Keith Roye highlighted the importance of moving beyond simply asking, “How can I use AI?” and instead considering, “How can AI help my entire business operate smarter?” He noted that these are not simply technology questions, but business questions that are particularly relevant as businesses in The Bahamas seek to improve efficiency, strengthen competitiveness and position themselves for sustainable growth.

Exploring the SAP Autonomous Enterprise:

Venkat Krishnam of SAP led attendees through the concept of the Autonomous Enterprise, exploring how SAP's AI capabilities can bring together business data, processes and AI assistants and agents to help organizations move from insight to action.

A key theme of the presentation was “People set the direction. AI executes.” The discussion highlighted how AI agents can coordinate across business functions and handle routine transactions, allowing employees to focus on decisions that move the business forward, while maintaining governance, oversight and traceability.

Attendees were also introduced to key elements of SAP's Autonomous Enterprise, including Joule, SAP Autonomous Suite, Industry AI, the SAP Business AI Platform and agent-led business transformation.

SEIDOR: Supporting Business Transformation:

Christopher Hesch of SEIDOR provided insight into the role of technology consulting in helping organizations navigate digital transformation and maximize the opportunities presented by technologies such as SAP Cloud ERP, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.

SEIDOR describes itself as a technology consultancy focused on driving the competitiveness and transformation of organizations by

leveraging technology and business knowledge, while maintaining a strong focus on the value of human aspects, talent development and the social sphere.

Hesch's presentation also addressed common misconceptions surrounding SAP, including the perception that SAP is only suited to large enterprises. The presentation highlighted that organizations can begin with what they need today and expand as they grow, noting that 80% of SAP customers are small and midsize businesses.

An Engaged Business Community:

The presentations generated strong interest from attendees and were followed by an interactive Q&A session, with members of the business community asking questions and engaging the presenters on the practical implications of AI and automation for their organizations.

The BCCEC extends its sincere appreciation to Venkat Krishnam and Christopher Hesch for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our business community, and to SAP and SEIDOR for partnering with the Chamber to bring this timely and relevant conversation to The Bahamas.

We also extend our thanks to all of our members, business leaders, professionals and guests who joined us and contributed to the success of the event. Your participation, questions and engagement helped make the morning a meaningful and worthwhile discussion.

The BCCEC remains committed to providing opportunities for the business community to connect, learn, exchange ideas and stay informed about the trends and developments shaping the future of business.
