On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation(BCCEC) hosted an exclusive Members Mixer at the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) Headquarters on Gladstone Road. Bringing together chamber members, small business operators, and digital innovators, the evening centered around the launch of a timely commercial tool under the theme: "Discover Flamingo Bahamas."

Amid global inflationary pressures and an escalating cost of living, consumers are actively seeking actionable ways to stretch their household budgets. Conversely, local merchants face growing hurdles in finding cost-effective marketing channels to expand their market footprint. The Flamingo Bahamas platform introduces an elegant, dual-sided digital savings solution designed to bridge this exact gap.

A centerpiece of the mixer was a live, step-by-step demonstration showcasing how smoothly business owners can register and build out profiles directly within the Flamingo App.

Laquay Laing, the founder and owner of Flamingo Bahamas, broke down the platform’s core mechanical advantage for local business owners and how it works during his presentation:

"Flamingo Bahamas is a digital marketing and promotional platform. It is free for businesses, so businesses don't pay anything. Every single time you post a discount, every single subscriber on the network automatically gets a notification to their phone saying this particular business just posted a deal."

For Consumers ($9.99/mo): Empowers users to make smart, strategic financial decisions while unlocking unlimited, repeatable savings on retail shopping, dining, bars, entertainment, fitness, beauty/spa, travel, and accommodations.

The platform is designed for sweeping nationwide scale, planning a comprehensive footprint that captures hundreds of participating merchants across New Providence, Grand Bahama, Bimini, Abaco, Eleuthera, and Exuma—connecting local commerce directly with residents and visiting tourists alike.

BCCEC Chairman Don Williams reinforced the Chamber's absolute backing of homegrown tech solutions that solve immediate logistics, exposure, and friction barriers for the business community:

"As a chamber, we are happy to back and support businesses that have, and just behemoths in general, that have understood that they found a problem, created a solution. A simple platform. It's like going onto a Facebook account, creating an account, and posting during the daytime."
