The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation (BCCEC) is calling for direct talks with the government, Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) and Bahamas Grid Company (BGC) on the country’s worsening electricity situation, arguing that the business community has practical ideas to help ease the crisis, but should not be expected to shoulder the burden for failures it did not create.

The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation (BCCEC) is lamenting the increasing costs to businesses amid continuing power outages and the diminishing reliability of the power supply that businesses have to face.
In a statement to Guardian Business yesterday, Dr. Leo Rolle, executive director of the BCCEC, said: “The BCCEC is deeply concerned about the continued power outages affecting businesses across New Providence and other islands, especially during this past weekend, and the significant economic disruption being caused.

The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Confederation (BCCEC) proudly hosted its 4th Annual Chamber Classic Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the stunning Royal Blue Golf Club, Baha Mar Resort, bringing together approximately 70 golfers from across The Bahamas' business community for a day of networking, friendly competition, and giving back.
As one of the Chamber's signature annual events, the Chamber Classic continues to strengthen relationships within the private sector by providing a relaxed setting for business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and Chamber members to connect beyond the boardroom. The tournament also serves as an important fundraising initiative that supports the Chamber's work to advance a stronger business environment in The Bahamas.

Sygnus Investment Bahamas launches receivables purchase platform backed by a US$10 million IDB Invest facility to support business liquidity: Sygnus Investment Bahamas Inc. (SIB), a subsidiary of the Sygnus Capital Group, has begun introducing a receivables financing platform in The Bahamas.
