Much anticipated annually as the opening forum of the business year, the 29th Bahamas Business Outlook (BBO) will take place at Baha Mar Resort, 16 January 2020 with Prime Minister, Most Honourable Hubert Minnis as keynote speaker. The theme for this session is “A New Era: Resilience in the Face of Vulnerability”.
Founder of the seven-island BBO and president of TCL Group, Joan Albury, commented on the importance of the event, which has become even more so following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian in the northernmost islands of The Bahamas.
“The Bahamas Business Outlook Series is dedicated to bringing together key players from across the economic and social spectrums to give insight into the challenges and opportunities of the New Year. Many in the business community take away information gleaned from the forum to assess and trim their plans for the year,” Albury said.
“It is always important to learn of the government’s plans for the year and beyond and who better to hear from than the government leader. We are very grateful that Prime Minister Minnis has confirmed his intention to participate on January 16th. We will announce the rest of a very carefully selected speaker slate very shortly.
“To us at TCL Group, the 2020 Bahamas Business Outlook will be the most important to date, hence the theme “A New Era: Resilience in the Face of Vulnerability”. The entire world is moving into a new era, where global trade trends are bound to bring some significant changes. Because of the profound impact of Hurricane Dorian, the changes for us are likely to be radical. However, with change comes opportunity and we Bahamians have demonstrated remarkable resilience over the years, especially when the chips are down,” Joan Albury said.
