Vision

"To serve as the premier employers’ and business organization in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas by developing, promoting and protecting trade activity as well as the interests of the employers on all social and labour policy issues within the context of true tripartism, in national, regional and international forums”

The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation  functions primarily through its Standing Committees which parallel the areas of responsibility of the Government Ministries. The Committees meet regularly to discuss problems and general matters of concern within their scope of reference. Recommendations are forwarded to the Government on a regular basis; likewise, when approached by the Government for private sector input, the Chamber's Board of Directors consults with the appropriate Chamber Division (s).

In addition to promoting trade through its constant efforts to maintain a healthy economic climate, the Chamber functions as a trade bureau, answering direct trade enquiries, local as well as foreign. The Chamber publishes an Annual Directory which contains general information about The Bahamas, in addition to the classified Commercial Directory of its members. This publication has world-wide circulation. The Chamber maintains a Commercial Library and through the cooperation of Chambers and business organizations around the world, has access to trade directories and manuals from almost every country in the world.

The Chamber operates like a membership Club; it receives annual subscriptions, which enables it to provide varied services for its membership.

Any reputable person, firm, partnership, estate, association or Corporation conducting business in The Bahamas may subscribe for membership in The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce, eligibility and classification to be prescribed by the Board of Directors or its delegated authorities.
